Dentures

Removable dentures are prosthetic dental appliances designed to replace missing teeth and restore the function and aesthetics of a person’s smile. They have been a popular solution for tooth loss for many years and continue to be an effective and affordable option for patients seeking teeth replacement.

There are a few types of removable dentures:

Complete dentures Complete dentures are used when all teeth are missing in either the upper arch, lower arch, or both. They consist of a gum-colored acrylic base that holds a full set of artificial teeth. Complete dentures rest directly on the gums and are held in place by suction or denture adhesives.

Partial dentures – Partial dentures are employed when some natural teeth remain in the mouth. They are designed to fill the gaps left by missing teeth, preventing the remaining teeth from shifting and restoring proper function. Partial dentures are often made with a metal or acrylic framework, and they may have clasps that attach to the remaining teeth for stability.

The process of getting removable dentures involves a consultation with the dentist, impressions and measurements of the patient’s mouth is then taken. Subsequently a trial fitting appointment will be made to check the fit, bite, and aesthetics before the patient gets their denture.

If you are considering dentures as a tooth replacement option, consult with our professional dentists to determine the best treatment plan for your specific needs.
